Beth Gaskill is the brilliant mind behind the whole operation. Trained in Orton Gillingham + multi sensory education, a former early childhood and elementary school teacher herself, she is super popular in the “under-5-year-old” demo as well as the “mama-looking-for-community” demo. She founded this company to create a space for families to come together, build community and have fun. She blends the roles of teacher and buddy seamlessly. She works tirelessly to connect parents and is personally responsible for MANY #BigCityBFFs. Come to one story time and you will get it, maybe you’ll meet your BigCityBFF!

Before joining the Big City Team, Taylor was in Public Relations and quickly realized she wanted to teach! She got her masters in education and taught in CPS for 7 years before having her two little ones. Miss Taylor is about as passionate about reading as it gets. Her goals are first and foremost, students and equipping them with the tools to become confident and enthusiastic learners in a safe and inclusive environment! “I’m most excited to help your child grow academically and socially through games, play, engaging books and thoughtfully tailored lessons.  I am thrilled that I found Miss Beth who shares the same mission of making reading fun, cool, and something for the entire family to enjoy!”

Elizabeth has 7+ years of teaching experience.  She graduated from Marquette University with a degree in elementary education and psychology. Elizabeth taught kindergarten in Logan Square for 7 years, 6 of those years with Miss Beth! Aside from being the most amazing, patient and nurturing early childhood teacher, Elizabeth is a Big City Mom! She can be found at story times or baby class with her little one, Tess. Elizabeth is passionate about creating joyful and engaging learning environments while setting all children up for success. We are so thrilled that Miss Elizabeth will be joining our team, teaching early childhood + preschool readiness this school year!
