PK - 6th graders
PK - 6th graders
Whether your child needs a boost or LOVES reading + writing and wants a challenge, we have a group for them! Small group classes are designed for preschool 3 year olds through 6th graders. Classes will run from September 30-November 24.
Middle school students will explore inquiry based learning this semester with Miss Whitney and Miss Taylor. Think: YOU GET TO CHOSE YOUR LEARNING.
Our PK 3s+4s will explore independence in this new style class, while learning their letters, building sensory stories, the parts of a book, tracking print and of course making friends. The 3+4 year old day time classes will be more sensory focussed and grown ups will stay and transition to not participate. The afternoon class is a drop off and good for kids who are ready to learn more letters and how to build words. Children in this class must be potty trained. These classes are led by Miss Elizabeth and Miss Taylor.
Kindergarten through 2nd grade classes will focus on PHONICS. We will learn ALL the rules around why /oa/ says OH and when you need that magic e. We’ll play games and use some bilateral coordination tricks to learn sight words. While making new friends and learning to make friends with books. This is the time to fall in love with learning! Let’s do it right.
Small groups 3rd - 6th grade will dive into inquiry based learning and writers workshopping. We practice listening to others, creating a safe space where we all support each other where we are in our reading journey. We then have some independent stations and 1:1 time. We'll practice building fluency with silly accents, speed reading with different emotion cue cards, and writing stories together and gradually moving into peer editing. Each group is a little different based on student needs, but all groups are a little messy due to multi-sensory fun
Small group classes are taught by Miss Elizabeth, Miss Taylor and Miss Whitney.
If you have specific goals you want to address, maybe private tutoring is the route for you! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to match with one of our amazing tutors.
Why no drop-ins? The drop-in class model is definitely easier for parents and works well for entertainment classes, but it’s developmentally appropriate for your little ones to be in the same group and same class for several weeks. If you are interested in getting a sample of our class check out one of our pop up events or story times.
MAKE UP POLICY
Because of our strict student to teacher ratio, missed classes will not result in make-up classes, prorated tuition or refunds. No refunds for classes missed including scheduled holidays. Class time cannot be adjusted for changes in your schedule.
