Meet our founder, Beth Gaskill

I spent years working in PK-8th grade classrooms and reading intervention programs and I saw kids facing the same reading problems over and over again. Because we were teaching them the wrong way.

I discovered this wasn't a reading problem I needed to solve. This was a reading problem I could prevent, by closing the gaps in learning in the early years — from babies to third grade and every step in between. And Big City Readers was born!

proven reading strategies, as seen in...

We believe reading happens everywhere—not just with a book in a lap. This activity book shows your child that learning to read can feel easy, silly, and playful!
